Climate change is leading to worse air quality that will increase mortality rates around the world. Ozone and other fine particulates will become more prevalent. These pollutants increase the risk of lung cancer and respiratory illnesses. It is estimated that 100,000 people could be killed by such air pollutants.
Already there are some areas that are being affected, if we use less fossil fuels we can help stop climate change and help air quality. Some places like Mexico City have such poor air quality that you can buy oxygen from vending machines, in certain parts of China pollution is such a crisis that the citizens must wear masks or inhale air that carries the same risks as smoking cigarettes.
